After having an interest in technology for many years, Erik Rasmussen decided to take the leap and build a new career in IT at Noroff. Today, he works at NorgesGruppen Data.
– I’ve always been fascinated by how technology works “behind the scenes.” Being able to understand the systems and build solutions from scratch has always been a childhood dream.
From backend to cloud
Erik started with Backend Development before continuing with Cloud Foundations.
– After completing Backend, I felt a desire to keep building. Cloud Foundations gave me knowledge in cloud platforms and development, an important step toward DevOps, where development and operations meet.
Even without any formal IT experience beforehand, he took on the challenge head-on.
– The beginning was tough, but eventually, the pieces fell into place. I gained a comprehensive understanding of the field, and it became both fun and motivating. Today, I’m very glad I didn’t give up.
Flexible education perfect for a busy life
When Erik was choosing a school, flexibility and quality were essential. He chose Noroff because the study programs are flexible, both in terms of time and place. This made it possible for him to combine education with work and everyday life without compromising learning outcomes.

Erik didn’t just learn technology, he also learned how to learn. That skill quickly became valuable when he started his job at NorgesGruppen Data. He says that he uses the skills he learned from his studies every single day, both technically and in collaboration with colleagues.

The transition from student to employee was seamless. The education gave him a strong foundation and made him an attractive candidate. To others considering starting IT studies, he has a clear message:
– I don’t think I would have gotten the opportunities I have today without my degree from Noroff. It gave me both the confidence and the knowledge to deliver from day one.
