This programme is fully centred around artificial intelligence and teaches you how modern AI systems are built, trained, deployed, and maintained. You will work hands-on with machine learning models, deep learning, natural language processing, and generative techniques. Students learn how to prepare data, design pipelines, evaluate model performance, and deploy models to cloud platforms.
The programme also introduces responsible AI practices, ensuring you can create solutions that are ethical, transparent, and aligned with new regulations. With practical projects and industry-relevant tools, you gain the competence needed to apply AI directly in real-world digital products.
Artificial intelligence now powers almost everything from recommendation engines and predictive analytics to chatbots, automation tools, and intelligent decision systems. There is an increased need among a growing number of companies for professionals who not only understand how AI works, but can also apply it effectively to real-world problems.
This programme is designed for students who want to understand and build practical AI and machine learning solutions, combining programming, data science, model development, and cloud-based deployment. You will learn the full workflow: defining problems, preparing data, training models, evaluating results, and deploying your work into production. With AI knowledge becoming essential across every industry, this programme equips you with highly employable skills and a strong portfolio that opens doors to a wide range of technology-driven careers.
The first year of this two-year programme is identical to the one-year programme Applied Machine Learning. However, you can apply directly to this two-year programme and secure your place for two years.

When buying a computer, make sure it meets the minimum requirements. This ensures sufficient processing power, storage capacity, and memory to handle datasets, virtualisation, and training/using AI models.
When you start the programme, you will receive information about the specific software you need to use for each course.
As part of the study programme, cloud services, such as Microsoft Azure, may be used. Wherever possible, services such as Azure for Students are used, which provide up to a NOK 1,000 in free credit (this varies depending on the service). Even though the programme is designed to use only the allocated free credits, in some cases, it may be necessary to purchase further credits. This may happen if you play around with your own projects or if you previously used up the free credits for another purpose. In such cases, these further credits would need to be purchased at your own expense.
Noroff has ongoing admissions, and applications are processed in the order they are received. The earlier you apply, the earlier you can secure a study place.
To qualify for the programme, you must have general study competence or vocational education with a professional certificate. It is also possible to apply based on recognised prior learning.

All our study programs are approved for loans and grants from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen). You can apply to the Loan Fund for basic support (loan and grant; NOK 166.859) and tuition fees (NOK 79,432).
As an adult student, you can receive loans and grants from the State Educational Loan Fund. This also applies if you work while studying.
As a main rule, you must be a Norwegian citizen to receive support from the Norwegian State Educational Fund. However, foreign citizens may also be entitled to financial support. Check here to see if you are eligible.
