Moving to a new student city? We have gathered some tips on where you can look for a place to live.
Noroff has campuses in Oslo and Bergen. As a student at one of our campuses, you will automatically be a member of the city’s student welfare organization. Below, you will find an overview of what applies to your student city.
Oslo
Students at Noroff Oslo are members of the student welfare organization in Oslo, SiO. If you are planning to move to the capital or simply want to switch to a more affordable place to live as a student, we highly recommend SiO’s student housing. On this page, you will find a simple guide that helps you find apartments you can apply for based on your own preferences.
Oslo has excellent public transportation, making it easy to travel between the various student housing areas managed by SiO. If you prefer to stay close to campus, the student housing areas Iladalen, St. Hanshaugen, and Grünerløkka are the closest to Noroff Oslo.
In Oslo, there can be high demand for SiO’s student housing in the city center. If you are offered housing outside the center, you can always join a waiting list to move closer to campus later during the academic year.
As a student in Oslo, you can also apply for housing at Anker Student Housing. No membership is required. The closest housing option to Noroff Oslo is Københavngata 10.
Bergen
All our students in Bergen are members of the student welfare organization in Bergen, Sammen. On Sammen’s website, you will find a wide range of modern and affordable apartments suitable for students.
Sammen offers student apartments located throughout the city, meaning you can apply for housing both in central Bergen and in areas just outside the city center. The student housing areas closest to campus Bergen are Fridalen, Brann Stadion, and Fantoft.
Bergen has an excellent public transportation system with both buses and the light rail, making it easy to travel between the different student housing areas and campus.
It is important to note that there can be high demand for student housing, so it is smart to apply early. Sammen allocates available housing continuously after the main allocation period.
Private Housing Market
There are always good opportunities to find a nice and comfortable place to live on the private housing market. You will find a large selection of apartments and shared housing on both hybel.no and finn.no. On the private market, you have greater flexibility in deciding whether you want to live in the city center or slightly outside the city.
In larger cities with good public transportation, like our student cities, living outside the city center is usually not a problem.
