Why Study Network and System Administration?

Technological advances have positioned Norway as one of the most digitised countries in the world, driving economic growth and increasing productivity for both individuals and businesses. However, the pervasive integration of digital controls into critical societal functions has introduced vulnerabilities and challenges that require a strategic focus on information technology (IT) security.

The primary objective of this programme is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of general IT security principles, coupled with the ability to tailor technical network solutions to meet the specific needs of organisations. You'll learn about the structure and operation of computers and how different components can optimise performance. As a student, you'll gain a fundamental knowledge of understanding, building, managing and troubleshooting networks.

Graduates will be able to perform a range of tasks from installing, operating and optimising servers and clients to the ongoing development of an organisation's information and communication technology (ICT) systems. You will also be equipped to provide support and advice to internal staff and external clients.

Two-year programme also available

After this one-year programme, many are ready for employment. For those who wish to continue their training in IT security, there is a seamless transition to the second year of the Network and IT Security programme.
