Andreas (25) was unsure if his developer skills would be sufficient in the industry. After finishing a Noroff Accelerate program he soon landed a job as a full stack developer.
After finishing his Bachelor´s degree in Software technology Andreas Lif decided to invest in his career by signing up for an Accelerate course.
- I felt unsure about my abilities as a developer. I didn’t know if my knowledge and experience would be sufficient in the industry, Andreas said.
After finishing a Java Web development Accelerate course his confidence was a lot higher and it did not take long before he got a job as a full stack developer at Fortknox, one of the major companies in his hometown Växjö in Sweden.
- The program made me comfortable with the technologies the company used which in turn made the interviews a lot easier, he said.
- If you feel unsure about how the industry standard looks like for developers I would say that attending the accelerated program will give you a clear picture, or simply form you into what the industry expect. You will certainly be a better developer by the end of the program.

Different learning experience
Andreas explains how the fast-paced learning at Noroff Accelerate was a different experience from what he was used to at university.
- I was fresh out of university and rather used to a slow-paced environment. The Accelerate program made me more comfortable with a faster learning pace. From my experience that is closer to how you would learn new things in the industry, he said.
How did you experience the feedback and guidance throughout the Accelerate course?
- During my studies, we only had one instructor, who was awesome! To have an instructor was great, he made the difficult parts feel like a walk in the park. The feedback I got on my assignments was extremely constructive, which in turn made me want to improve my coding skills for the upcoming ones.
What are the most important things you learned?
- The most important skill was the ability to adapt to a short timeframe. It helped me gain an ability to prioritize different parts of a project to complete the main objective, instead of taking detours.
