AFDA is the latest addition to our university partnerships. Complete two years at Noroff and one year in South Africa and get a Bachelor's degree in Arts in Motion Picture Medium, combined with cultural experiences that will inspire you for the rest of your life.

Due to political agitation in South Africa, Noroff Vocational School has decided to put the collaboration with AFDA Film School on hold in 2022. We hope the situation will improve, and that we eventually can continue the collaboration.

AFDA has within a few years become one of the world's most renowned film schools. We are proud to be the only school in Norway offering a joint program with this institution. Spend a year in South Africa and get a Bachelor's degree in Art Motion Picture Medium with exciting cultural experiences.

AFDA is part of an exclusive range of film schools worldwide who qualify for membership in CILECT (International Association of Film and Television Schools). Membership in CILECT comes with the option of enrolling student films at the Oscars.

AFDA is listed by the South African Council as one of the six best private universities in South Africa. Films produced by AFDA is shown at several international festivals and broadcast worldwide. The school has won numerous prestigious awards, and in 2006 they won the most prestigious of them all: Oscar for best student film!

The school works by the principle "everything in house", and educates all professional functions within filmmaking: makeup artists, actors, designers, photographers, key grips, production designers, directors, and producers. The school creates a unique production environment, where everything - including film development - happens "in house".

The city's gorgeous beaches are a mecca for water sports and windsurfing. The film industry in Cape Town has been providing infrastructure and services to large, international films and commercial productions from Germany, Canada, USA, UK and many other countries. The fabulous locations, the 15-hour long days of summer, the angle and intensity of light, world class facilities and film crew of the highest quality, have helped make Cape Town one of the first choices for productions on this side of the Atlantic.
