Networks Switching and Routing (CCNA2)
Online course Upcoming
10 weeks part time Instructor led
Take the next step in your career in network and IT security by taking a deeper look into routing, switching and wireless configuration and security.
IT security is important for any business, to prevent unauthorized access to organizational assets such as computers, networks, and data. It also maintains the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information and protects data from sophisticated hackers.
Networks consist of many different components, such as routers, switches, and end devices. Ensuring wired or wireless connectivity between these devices is a core aspect of network configuration. As workplaces increasingly move towards a "Bring your own device” (BYOD) model, network administrators are faced with new security challenges. They need to allow widespread access to their network while protecting data and ensuring correct authorization. Therefore, it is critical to apply fundamental security principles to both the switches and wireless access points in a network.
The digital transformation, accelerated by Covid19, has increased the need for skilled IT and networking professionals. If you want to pursue a career in cybersecurity and give yourself a solid foundation within networking and IT security this 10-week bootcamp is for you.
About the course
This course covers the architecture, components, and operations of routers and switches in small networks and introduces wireless local area networks (WLAN) and security concepts. Students learn how to configure and troubleshoot routers and switches for advanced functionality using security best practices and resolve common issues with protocols in both IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
Our instructor-led course covers the second of three courses in the Cisco CCNA 7 curriculum. The course includes hands-on lab work and a wide array of assessment types and tools. You will also develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills by using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer.
Upon course completion, you will receive an international Cisco Networking Academy certificate. After completing all three CCNA courses, you are ready to take the CCNA Certification exam to become a Cisco Certified Network Associate.
This course will help you develop workforce readiness skills and build a foundation for success in IT security- and networking-related careers.
All our courses are designed to meet industry needs and provide you with the skills that are required to succeed in your industry. Our highly qualified instructors and lecturers will help you get the full benefit from the course.
