Julia Stenkvist Monteroza worked for over ten years as a leader in retail before deciding to pursue digital marketing at Noroff. Today she is an AI Automation & Marketing Manager, helping companies save time and drive growth through artificial intelligence.
For several years, Julia Stenkvist Monteroza experienced how crucial marketing is for both reputation and sales. Small adjustments had a big impact on customer flow, and her curiosity for the field grew. When she discovered Digital Marketing at Noroff, she found a broad program that covered the entire process from analysis and strategy to execution.
– To succeed, you must be visible digitally, and that’s where growth happens. The Noroff program allowed me to work with the entire marketing process, and it felt like a natural and right choice.

Student life at Noroff
Her studies took an unexpected turn when Julia became pregnant with her first child shortly after starting. She took a study break of nearly a year and returned to a completely new learning platform. The transition went smoothly, thanks to accessible teachers and close follow-up from her study advisor.
– I received very good support all the way. It made it safe to come back and quickly find the flow again.
From theory to practice
A highlight was hands-on work with a real client, where theory was turned into solutions that were actually implemented. This gave both professional confidence and insight into the intersection between technology and marketing – and opened her eyes to AI.
– Meeting a real company, understanding their needs, and developing concrete deliverables was incredibly valuable. It was here I saw how much potential AI has in marketing.

AI Automation & Marketing Manager
Today Julia helps companies develop AI strategies and streamline marketing processes. She and her team act as a growth partner, identifying bottlenecks, automating routine tasks, and freeing up time for creative and strategic work. In addition, she runs courses and workshops in AI tools such as ChatGPT.
– We remove time thieves that “just have to be done,” so companies can use their energy on growth and innovation. The best part is when participants have that classic “aha moment” and see how AI can actually make everyday life easier.
For Julia, AI is not about replacing people, but about giving them more time to create ideas, build relationships, and drive strategy. She recommends starting with a few, concrete improvements.
– The biggest advantage is saving time on manual tasks. Start with 1–3 routine tasks that can be automated, and build from there. Small steps make the transition easier – and have a big effect over time.
The transition to working life
The transition from student to employee was smooth, with good onboarding from her employer and a solid foundation from Noroff. The combination of theory and practice meant that Julia could contribute quickly in her workday.
– I felt well-prepared and could immediately deliver. That confidence allowed me to grow further in the role.
For others who want to combine marketing and technology, her advice is clear: never stop learning.
– Development moves fast. Stay curious, test new tools, and build your skills step by step. Don’t be afraid to fail – often you learn the most from what didn’t go exactly as planned.
