Before joining Noroff Accelerate as content manager, Ronald Leppan devoted 20-years in South Africa teaching several undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of IT and computer science. Throughout his career he is fortunate to combine a passion for teaching, an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and an endless fascination with technology.

His appreciation for the pedagogical value of technology is enhanced through ongoing research in learning experience design. In South Africa he initiated and coordinated a community engagement project involving educational robotics for STEAM education among youth. This allowed him to witness the transformational power of technology in the development of young minds. Plus, he got to play with cool gadgets!

In 2019, Ronald obtained a PhD that contributed a model for using learners' online behaviour to inform differentiated instructional design choices in a learning management system. The model integrates steps of a commercial web analytics process with a layered abstraction of online learning design and an ethically sensitive learning analytics process that uses educational data mining to build a learner profile. His current position at Noroff Accelerate allows him to put this model into practice, where he will focus on quality reviews and continual improvement of the learner experience.
