Has made a number of films and has just completed the national cinema release of the Sami feature film "Eallogierdu-The Tundra Within Me", which she produced. The short film "Warrior Heart", which she produced, will be in competition at the Kristiansand Children's Film Festival, then in competition at the prestigious Oberhausen and Hamburg Short Film Festivals. Then it's off to the Cannes Market. Mona J. Hoel's short film 'Face the Wind' will also compete in Kristiansand Children's Film Festival. In 2022, the feature film 'Night', which she wrote, directed and produced, got a National cinema release. As did her feature film ‘Are you leaving already?’ in 2020. She is also known as the screenwriter and director of the first and only Norwegian Dogme film 'Når nettene blir lange' from 2000. Her feature film Clorox, ammonia and coffee 2004 was filmed by DOP Hoyte van Hoytema who won the Oscar for Oppenheimer 2024.
