Oslo is a city where the lecture hall, the café table and the forest trail are surprisingly close to one another.

It is precisely this combination of academic depth, vibrant city life and easy access to nature that makes so many people choose to pursue higher education here. In Oslo you can go from a lecture to professional networking – and then straight to a run in the forest – all in the same day. It is also an important reason why Noroff Campus Oslo has become an attractive meeting point in the heart of the capital.

🎓 Academic grounding – right in the middle of the industry

The campus is located in Mølleparken, just a stone’s throw from the city’s design, media and tech communities. Study programmes range from vocational programmes to bachelor’s degrees through Online PLUS, and the teaching is built around practical projects. Lecturers bring examples directly from their own professional work, allowing theory to connect with real-world challenges from the very first semester.

A survey of student life in the capital highlights three things that matter most to today’s students: study programmes that lead clearly toward employment, short distances between campus and industry, and environments where it is easy to find people to collaborate with. Noroff Campus Oslo, with its practical focus and compact campus in Mølleparken, already sits close to that target – both geographically and academically. The transition from lecture hall to project work, and later to the workplace, therefore becomes more natural for many students.

🤝 A network that grows with you

When lectures are over, the distance is short to technology companies, creative agencies and startups that often collaborate with students on projects or internships. From the start of your studies, you have opportunities to meet people working in the industries you aim to enter.

Many students build networks through guest lectures, hackathons and events on campus. For several students, their time studying also becomes the starting point of a professional network that follows them into their careers.

🎬 A campus built for creating

The Noroff building includes both traditional classrooms and specialised facilities such as sound and film studios, a photo studio, makerspace and surround mixing suite. Much of the infrastructure is already in place so that you can develop ideas and projects throughout your studies.

Whether you need a quiet corner for brainstorming, a studio for recording a podcast or a greenscreen for your exam film, there is usually a space that fits. Because of this, the campus is often used outside teaching hours as well – for group work, project development and creative collaboration.

🚋 A daily routine that actually works

Students in Oslo often highlight public transport and short distances as key factors for a good student experience. The metro, trams, buses and city bikes make it easy to travel between lectures, part-time jobs and leisure activities – and with a student ticket, travel costs remain at a moderate level.

Housing can be challenging in an expensive capital city, but The Student Welfare Organisation of Oslo (SiO) and Anker Studentbolig offer student housing with short travel distances to campus. On SiO’s housing map you will find options such as Grünerløkka student house and St. Hanshaugen student village, while Anker offers student apartments in Storgata, just five minutes by bike from Mølleparken.

🌲 City life and nature – on the same day

One of the things that makes Oslo a special student city is its proximity to nature. From the city centre it is a short distance to Nordmarka with hiking trails, cycling routes, ski tracks and lakes for swimming. At the same time, the Oslofjord is only minutes away.

You can start the day on campus, meet friends at a café after lectures – and end the day with a walk in the forest or along the fjord. The city also offers a rich cultural life, with concerts at Blå, exhibitions at MUNCH and film screenings in the campus cinema.

🌍 A student community you can help shape

Oslo does not have one single “mega campus” like some other student cities. Instead, the city consists of several smaller academic communities existing side by side. This means that student life is largely shaped by the environments surrounding each campus.

At Noroff, this means a community where students meet through their subjects, projects, events and social activities. Student associations, SiO Athletica, Deichman Bjørvika and local meetups provide both professional inspiration and the opportunity to meet people across programmes and institutions.

Student life in Oslo is therefore about more than lectures and exams. It is about developing ideas, building networks and creating experiences that can follow you into your future career. Welcome to Noroff Campus Oslo, where learning and everyday life flow seamlessly together in the heart of Norway’s most diverse city.
