Vilde finished her graphic design studies just before the summer and now works as a Junior UX/UI Designer at the robotics and IoT company Wheel.me.

It was the strong interest in combining creativity with strategy and theory that made Vilde Bryn (23) choose to study graphic design at Noroff.

I believe that graphic design is an effective way to convey messages, emotions and ideas. I wanted to apply my creativity into a field where I can not only create visually appealing designs, but also effectively communicate concepts to a wide audience.

She continues:

Studying graphic design at Noroff has been really good. We have had an incredibly varied study day with assignments that allow us to explore our own personal style. We've also had assignments from real customers where you really get a taste of what it's like to work with customers and companies.

Close follow-up from teachers

Something Vilde would like to highlight as particularly positive about her time studying at Noroff is the teachers and their teaching. Her class on the course was not excessively large, which meant that each individual received close follow-up.

It was always easy to get good feedback during the study period, which made the results of the assignments much better. This has also led to me building a strong portfolio that I still use now after graduation, she says.

The 23-year-old says that the campus in Oslo has a very central location with shops, restaurants and cafés just a stone's throw away. Inside the school, there are also a number of great facilities that students can use during their studies.

We had our own photo studio, which was perfect if you wanted to take pictures of assignments for your portfolio. Here we had access to all the equipment you could think of, including a camera and camera tripod, iMac, drawing board, 3D printer and all the drawing equipment.

Working as a UX/UI Designer

Vilde now works as a Junior UX/UI Designer at Wheel.me. Here she works with designing and developing the company's app and website, in addition to producing graphic content. She has also created videos that are used on the company's website, in social media and at trade fairs.

She primarily works on redesigning the company's website and app. Much of her time is spent working in the Figma software. The 23-year-old finds that her working day at Wheel.me is very varied.

The most important thing I do is to develop and improve our website and app so that users get the best possible user experience. This is something we also did during an assignment at Noroff, so I was very familiar with Figma before I started here at Wheel.me.

Vilde feels that she has been able to use a lot of what she has learned during her studies.

In an assignment we had in the first year of the program, we developed an app where the goal was to make it user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing to look at. I bring the many design principles we learned at school with me every day at work.

I feel so lucky to be allowed to have such a creative and varied workday. If you also want this, I would say that graphic design is absolutely perfect for you, she concludes.

Graphic design is a practical education where you learn to work creatively with visual communication. The program is available on all our campuses and as online studies.
