The largest higher education group in Europe, Galileo Global Education, has joined as an owner of Noroff, with the intent to further support and develop Noroff.

We are very proud that our efforts to deliver high quality education, combined with our growth, have been noticed in Europe, says Lars Erik Torjussen, Rector / CEO of Noroff.

The company that has joined as a new owner of Noroff is Galileo Global Education.

Paris-based Galileo is Europe's largest higher education group, both in terms of geographical spread and number of courses offered. Through its network of 42 schools, the group is present in over 80 campuses in 13 different countries around the world and has more than 110,000 enrolled students.

We are proud that Galileo has joined the team, with the intent to further support and develop Noroff as an educational institution in Norway and beyond, says Torjussen.

A strong financial support

A representative from Galileo says:

«We are very impressed by Noroff and we are especially impressed with the way they respond to employer needs. Their skills in employability is something we wish to bring to the group».

– Getting Galileo on the team obviously makes us more robust. They are a long-term owner, with strong expertise in education on an international scale. This gives us a great opportunity to focus on delivering higher education to our students, says Lars Erik.

Galileo focuses mainly on applied art, design, communication and management. Their mission is to be the world leader of innovation, creativity, arts and culture education.

IT and technology - and especially IT security - is a new and interesting field for Galileo and gives us a great opportunity to expand our area of expertise to a larger international network, says Lars Erik.

Exciting opportunities for the students

Noroff will continue to operate independently, just as the other schools in Galileo's network do.

There will not be any noticeable changes in the everyday life of our students, but it will act as a security and a provider of new and exciting opportunities, Torjussen adds.

By this he refers to both international expansion and the student's opportunities to study abroad.

Within Galileo's network facilitates lies some unique opportunities for students who wants to study abroad, and there are many academic resources that will benefit all the students at Noroff.

We are looking forward to taking Noroff to the next level with Galileo for years to come.
