IBAS is the leading company in the region providing data reconstruction, deletion and digital forensics.

Students and staff from Noroff University College visited IBAS in Kongsvinger recently. The staff and students were met by Bjorn Krok, Head of Forensics, who introduced IBAS and provided a background to the companies work in the area of computer forensics and e-discovery. He outlined some of the tools used to sift through huge volumes of data. Håvard Meldahl then outlined some of the forensics cases undertaken by IBAS and issues with accessing solid state memory before a prerecorded video presentation from Torbjörn Lofterud on the challenges of extracting forensic data from the different generations of iPhones.

The group then had the opportunity to tour the laboratory and data recovery facility, guided by the Head of Data Recovery for IBAS, Øyvind Nyland. They were shown the different stages of processing, the different types of cases in an investigation, and the types of the tools used.
