During the 10-week program you will learn the fundamentals of Python and object-oriented programming and get the skills to build versatile web and data science applications.
About the course
Without any prior experience, the course aims to teach you the fundamentals to programming by using the Python programming language as a basis. Python is a popular C-based language that is well documented, has very powerful "out of the box" features, and is the preferred language for first time coders because of how easy it is to read and write the code. The introductory course will get you set up with in the Jupyter Notebooks programming environment using Python 3, learn to write your first few programs, and then step through all the tools and techniques required to make diverse and useful Python programs for use in your daily activities.
Just a few examples of useful things Python can do is: collect data from the internet and then refine it into info you want (like getting the latest stock prices), create graphs and computer drawn images to help visualize or interpret information, as well as hundreds of automation tools to do the mundane boring tasks you have to do manually each week.

Duration and extent: 10 weeks part time (60 hrs lecture, 60 hrs problem solving, 50 hrs self study).
Weekly schedule: 3 sessions synchronus online (6 hours total). 3-6 hours of joint program solving online. 5 hours self study.
